Prepare for your written testing. Study guides for the written recert tests have been updated for the 2011-2012 season. Click here for recertification testing information. For information on other recertification requirements and necessary paperwork, return to the Western New York Home Page and click on the "Recertification" tab at the top of the page. Remember that USSF requires that all referees have a minimum of 5 hours classroom training to recertify as a referee. Any classroom training performed by a certified instructor is acceptable. If you attend an intermediate or advanced clinic, for example, that would meet your classroom training requirements. If you are a college student living outside of your home district, many districts conduct clinics during the Christmas or Thanksgiving breaks. You may also be able to attend a clinic in the area where you are attending school. If your school is in the Western New York area, check with the local DRA for recertification opportunities. (For example, if you live in Binghamton and go to school in Rochester, you may be able to attend one of the Rochester recertification clinics if it's more convenient.) Western NY includes everything between and including Buffalo and Syracuse, and south to the Pennsylvania line. Click here for DRA contact information. If you are attending college outside of Western NY, there may be clinics available for you as well. If you want to explore this option, click here to contact the SDI for assistance in locating a clinic. Need help using Arbiter?
